Here's an update on the children.
Bry is getting a little taller all the time he's very close to my height of 5' 4 1/2". He checks everyday. :) He needed to get glasses so Bruce took him last week and let him pick them out all by himself. He likes them and we think that's all that matters. Hopefully it will help him wear them. He's doing well in school, but finding that he has to work harder and play less-hard lesson but so good for him to learn.
Ellie is our little inventor. She is going to the state competition in two weeks with her fun invention the "Mark N' Go" a book mark she invented to save her place in a book- to the very word. It's really neat and she does such a great job presenting it. It's been so fun for her as she progressed from her school, to region, to STATE! Ellie is doing well in school too and really loves learning. She told us Saturday she wants to be a teacher when she grows up! Sounds great to me. :) She enjoyed her 10th birthday not to long ago!
Sophie is loving school. She works hard and loves to help others. She has loved the warmer weather and plays outside every chance she can. Oh, that girl can run. And plays basketball like she her dad height. She's just a little competitive. :) She loves to help me with Janie and nothing is more tender to me then seeing her and Janie cuddling up by the bookshelf reading. She will baptized June 12 @ 2PM here in Cedar Rapids. She is very excited about making this step. We're so happy for her.
Grace is loving her last months of freedom from public school. She's learning to read and write and loves to write numbers as far as she can. (She's made it to 150) We definitely think she'll be ready for Kindergarten. Gracie and Janie help me volunteer at the elementary school two days a week, so hopefully she comfortable there now. Sometimes she doesn't want to leave. She is so cute and keeps us all laughing.
Janie keeps us all on our toes. She has learned the joys of climbing and is rescued from many close calls, by six of us in the family. Janie is so cute! She loves to be read to and is quick to say "again" when we finish a favorite story or are playing a game she loves. "Outside" is another favorite word she says with perfect clarity. Not all of her words have been mastered yet, but most of the time I can figure it out. Bruce always gives me a big pat on the back when I decipher and we laugh because it does take a lot of skill.
Life just never seems to slow down and the days come and go way to fast. Hope all of you are doing well. We love hearing from you!

Thank you for the update! Those kids are so smart and talented (and growing way too fast!). Give them our love!
Tell Eli I would buy her bookmark. Mainly to keep from arguing with Zeke who always thinks he has to finish a chapter before he can close his book.
The kids are getting so big! Isn't just fun to watch them grow and progress?
It is so fun to read about what your kids are doing & how they are all growing. It's fun to see how all five of them have very different personalities. Your family is so beautiful!
